Lent
Written by Administrator
Tuesday, 29 January 2013 14:24

The Lenten hymns composed by noted Presbyterian hymn writer, Carolyn Winfrey Gillette./cwg.jpg

The Presbyterian Outlook commissioned Carolyn to prepare Lenten hymns based on the lectionary text for Year C for each Sunday of Lent, plus Ash Wednesday, Passion Sunday, and Easter.  The hymns have been scored by David Gambrell, Associate for Worship in the Office of Theology and Worship.

The hymns are available for download in a PDF format. There is a half page version for insertion in a worship bulletin, a full page version for choir and muscians and a large print version as well as a text only version. You download a master and print as many copies as needed.  Each hymn is $9.95 or purchase all 8 as a package for $49.95.  You can preview low-resoluation versions of all of the hymns.  Purchasing a hymn will give you access to a high-resolution PDF master with multiple layouts (half-page bulletin insert, full page score for choirs, and a large print version).

She pondered all that God had done.

Could she know all her child would be--

The life he’d bring humanity?

Yet he would not be the focus;
He proclaimed a greater One.
