On my refrigerator, I have a magnet. It says "I've got nothing against God. It's his fan club I can't stand." This becomes ever more true for me as I watch the shenanigans of the extreme practitioners of religion on both sides. I used to sing in the choir even though I felt that the sermons stank most of the time. I used to work in the church on various boards and committees and took leadership in many projects, but power-hungry folks with prejudices and narrow views made it impossible for me to live with myself, much less them. So I rarely darken the door of the church any more. Do I still believe? Oh, yes. Did I recommend baptism for my youngest grandchildren? No (and I was asked). I consider myself a follower of Jesus rather than a Christian. My goal is to be as trustworthy a servant of the Master as I can possibly be. This does not, at this time, seem to involve the church in any way. - Linde_Grace White
